A question you might be asking is: why? Why a vinyl record as an add-on in the expansion campaign of a board game? As enthusiasts of the era, as “addicted” to atmosphere and narrative, we thought it would be ideal to create a special ambiance in the game sessions that included the most suitable soundtrack. That’s why the Gangland Grooves vinyl record is actually a small tribute we wanted to give ourselves during the campaign. And that’s also why it has the most beautiful design we could create.
Chicago in the Roaring 20s. Prohibition has made liquor business illegal and now criminal gangs operate in the underworld to try and take control of the city. Blood, influence, power, and money add up to a dangerous mix on the streets.
The Deluxification Set is a new add-on in the Bloody Business campaign. While not essential for gameplay, this set upgrades the cardboard pieces with plastic ones. It contains:

- Dollars: 40x (18x $2, 18x $20, 4x $100)
The Expansions Box is an 18 cm tall box, with a premium design in Night Deck style: black and gold with an emboss effect. What can be stored in this box? Let’s list it:
- All the content from Bloody Business
- 2 New gangs and their gangboards
- Melvin Purvis miniature
- The Enforcers contents
- Paperboy
- Plastic Business markers
- Plastic dollars
- Extra set of pre-painted goods
- Night Deck (sleeved or not)
- Wooden crates
- All of the future addons and surprises to be revealed during this campaign
Please note some of the contents that are not intended to be stored inside this box:
- Original playmat and new smaller board playmat (too heavy and big, should be rolled, not cramped into a box)
- Art book and posters (they belong on the shelf or bedside table!)
The new box, of course, include specific Gametrayz trays to fit this puzzle. In short, if you buy the Expansions Box, you will have the entire Scarface 1920 universe in two boxes: the original game box and the new one with everything that expands it. Don’t worry, there won’t be a giant box later that encompasses all the products of Scarface 1920. We considered it, but the resulting dimensions and weight of the box made it difficult to store and almost impossible to transport.
WARNING! As mentioned, The Expansions Box is added as an addon to the campaign. The wounds left by Scarface 1920 caused the publisher, Redzen games, to warn everyone that this is a very bulky shipment, so the shipping cost when adding this add-on will not be cheap. In this regard, we want to be completely transparent with you because the box is truly amazing, but its dimensions will increase the final product’s cost.
In Scarface 1920 you will lead a gang of mobsters aiming to rule Chicago during the Dry Era (1920-33). To succeed you will have to rule every inch in gangland, expand your racketeering, run bootlegging operations, bribe the city officials, and make sure the coppers are on your side.
Scarface 1920 blends worker placement with deck-building mechanics in a game where you will have to recruit new associates, break new deals, fill the streets of Chicago with your thugs, enhance your headquarters —and do some dirty jobs along the way.
Every gang has a distinct set of abilities embodied in their boss, and in every game you will be able to choose a different path to victory. However, in this turf war you will have to confront other rival gangs that share an identical goal: growing their criminal empire. But they are not the only challenge you will face —Eliot Ness and his Feds are out to get you too!
