The Galaxy is vast, rich and open to any species who discovers space flight… but nine Elder Races are expanding through space, ready to assimilate or exterminate anybody who stands in their way.
Master of the Galaxy is a fast playing 4Х board game – eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate – using a unique and innovative blend of bag-building, card-drafting and tech-tree development mechanics.
Drawing inspiration from classic science-fiction, movies, and computer games, Master of the Galaxy’s setting is familiar and extraordinary at the same time.
- Fast-playing: a full 4X experience in less than two hours, with minimum downtime
- Rich mechanics: bag-building, resource management, area control, tech-tree development, card drafting in a simple to play, yet strategically challenging blend.
- Multiple paths to victory: development, conquest or expansion.
At the start of your conquest of the Galaxy, you have one star system, one Race card and a modest supply of resources. During the game, you will fill your bag with new resources that may lead you to victory depending on your chosen strategy. Moreover, you can use Progress and Political cards to help you to victory!
You choose which way you will dominate the Galaxy —
try to quickly spread your people all across the Galaxy,
develop your science to a level unreachable by your opponents,
embark on a methodical extermination of your rivals,
it is up to you to decide.
All means are good if you are the winner!
You can win this bag building game in different ways – by annihilating your opponents, by building 9 space bases, or by achieving dominance in diplomacy, economics, or science.
The exclusive Kickstarter Edition of Master of the Galaxy includes components up to the high standard of quality present in all of our games – Here’s more about them!
Your Kickstarter Edition also includes Faster than Light – an expansion not included in the retail version of the game. Additional Kickstarter-only content are added as stretch goals are unlocked.
All stretch goals are automatically included with your Kickstarter edition.
In Master of the Galaxy, bag-building, card drafting and tech development merge into a unique gameplay. Two to four players can play, and a complete game requires 30 to 45 minutes per player.
At the start of your conquest of the Galaxy, you have one star system, one species card and a modest supply of resources.
The player’s species, chosen at the start of the game, can suggest which direction to take, as each species has its own agenda and is capable of achieving supremacy in different ways.
During the game, you will fill your bag with new resources, and collect development and political cards, to lead your people to a glorious victory.
- There are many different paths you may follow to dominate the Galaxy… attract others to your cause, including legendary heroes and villains from all corners of the universe
- develop advanced technologies to achieve supremacy in science, weapons, or economics
- expand your borders and conquer new star systems settle in new planets to harvest their resources and fuel your strategy use force and guile to take resources away from your opponents.
